I'm reading Dorothy Parker. She's fascinating. I love to imagine her writing those stories in that period. She was, like most great writers, ahead of her time. The stories are mostly funny with a dark side to them, just like her, I suppose. I'm reading her "Portable" book which I bought at Livraria Cultura in São Paulo, my favorite place to be. If the world were taken over by zombies, this is the place I would like to be locked up in. Besides all the books, there's food and a bathroom, too. It's also a place that's fairly easy to lock up. I have really thought this over. Well, here's a little poem which I believe sums up what Dottie (we have became quite close so I guess I can call her that)  was like:
Observation

If I don't drive around the park,
I'm pretty sure to make my mark.
If I'm in bed each night by ten,
I may get back my looks again.
If I abstain from fun and such,
I'll probably amount to much;
But I shall stay the way I am,
Because I don't give a damn.
