The Secret Room

The lock to the laundry bathroom door has broken and will not open no matter what I do. I have used tools, have tried the police film technic which is kicking it with my foot or slamming into it with my shoulder (both my foot and shoulder are still tingling), have tried to pry it open with a huge screwdriver have even talked to it and to God but it won't budge. Since I moved here it's been locked shut. My husband, when I arrived, promised he would get someone to open it, that was 2 months ago. I don't even know what it looks like inside. The cleaning woman has informed me that the previous owner kept a pet rabbit in this bathrrom. It's testing my nervous and making me wish I knew a highly skilled burglar. They usually get anything open in 2 minutes. How do they do it? Is it practice or a talent people are born with? The house is old and I don't think this lock or door handle has ever been changed. The painters have just painted over the metal part of the handle and the parts around it which gives us the impression that everything is glued together.
My 6 year old son has told me to shoot it like they also do in films. I believe that's the only thing I haven't tried. Maybe if I do, my husband will then realize I'm a tad upset by it and finally find someone to get it open. Let's see...
